I've always been a believer that scarves can be worn throughout the year. Some people think scarves are meant for the colder months of the season, but that's just not true. In Creative Scarves you'll find over 20 stylish projects to craft, stitch and wear any time of year.
With fabulous designs from three amazing authors, Tiffany Windsor, Heidi Borchers, and Savannah Starr, you will no doubt want to make every scarf within this 128-page book. Each of the scarves uses unique materials that create amazing textures throughout the pattern. The first scarf in the book is made from ombre-dyed crochet doilies and as you turn the pages you'll find materials such as t-shirt strips, alphabet flowers, block-print bumblebees and so much more. You'll also be able to practice different techniques like chain stitch embroidery, finger crochet, bleaching, no-sew, and so many more.
What you'll like about this book is that each of the designs is easy to make and can simply go with every outfit you own. You can add our own personal touch as you sew, stamp, stencil, dye, bead, paint and trim your way to a new scarf collection. The book is separated by season, so if you're looking for a specific type of scarf then you'll know exactly where to look in the book.
Creative Scarves is great to add to your collection as it allows you to try all kinds of crafting skills. Toward the beginning of the book is a section on different ways you can wear the scarves once you've created them. There's the infinity (which is one of my favorites), the classic loop, the slipknot, ascot style, the hidden knot, the European loop, the loose drape, lots of knots, and the twist; there are quick diagrams teaching how to do each one. The authors of the book tested glues, dyes, inks, paints and many different fabrics to give you just the right design. I'll be the first to tell you, the designs are awesome.
