Christmas Tree and Hat Granny Squares
From the Blogger: "These two granny squares would make an adorable Christmas blanket. They are easy and don't need a lot of time to make. You only need to know the basic crochet stitches. The measurement for one square is approximately 11 cm x 11 cm, 4.3 inch x 4.3 inch."
You are going to need:
-The yarn I used is called Florence 100% cotton 50 g/ 125 meter in colours red, green and white.
-Fifteen 5 mm beads and a star for the tree. I had black ones, so I painted them with a gold nail polish.
-I tried making the pompom with the cotton yarn, but it looked very stiff and not fluffy. So I made them with Plymouth Encore DK (75% acrylic 25% wool) in the colour white.
-Hook size 3.5 mm.
-Tapestry needle.

I know the worst part of crocheting a Christmas theme throw or afghan is that it has be put away after the season. I love decorating for the holiday but I am so sad to see all of the beautiful creations go away for 10 months. I start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving and there are still not enough days.

It is never too early to begin preparing for the Christmas holiday. I love these Christmas Tree and Christmas elf hat granny squares. These two squares would be a great beginning Christmas throw if used with other Christmas themed granny squares or just the two of them mixed with solid grannies. The possibilities are endless.

These are so cute and so very popular now. I have seen them on several different sites before finding them here. They seem to be all over pinterest and in a lot of different facebook groups. Ahh the ease of the internet and social networks surely gets the word out more often than we even realize.

These are just too sweet. And they are very simple to do. No complicated or new stitch to learn. That's my kind of project. It's hard to think about Christmas while sitting here waiting fir hurricane Irma to hit but this is helping to take my mind off the worrying, thank you.

I love the look of these Christmas granny squares. They would make a sweet blanket or small afghan. I'm also thinking they would be cute as single squares for pot holders, trivets or even coasters. A crafty person could substitute these squares to make a Christmas vest. The more I think about it the more projects I can think of. A table runner for the holiday table. You could also make a Christmas tree skirt using these decorative squares. They are really versatile in my opinion.
