Altered Christmas Charger Plate
Try something new and make charger plate crafts this holiday season! With flowers, ornaments, doilies and more, you can turn a boring, plain plate into a true work of art thanks to Carlene Eshelman. In fact, the more embellishments you use, the better!
Materials:
- Gold charger plate
- 15 various flowers in red, green, white, gold
- Hot glue gun/sticks
- 3 small christmas ball ornaments
- Gold spray
- Green crocheted doily
- Mod podge
- 1 paper doily
- Scissors
- Prepared bow
Instructions:
- Paint front and back of crocheted doily with mod podge. Let dry.
- Cut a section of crocheted doily so that you have about 5 petals.
- Make cuts on the side of each petal but do not totally cut them. This will help curve the doily around the charger.
- Hot glue doily around inside corner of your charger plate(on right side).
- Optional-cut flat large flowers in half and place on outer edge of charge and glue.
- Cut paper doily in half, then half again.
- Glue over crocheted doily to inside edge of charger plate.
- Arrange gold spray at top of doily and glue.
- Glue larger flowers to doily in various places.
- Arrange smaller flowers around right side of charger.
- When flowers are to your liking, glue in place.
- Glue Christmas ball ornaments in open spots.
- Glue bow to bottom of your flower embellishments.
