Altered Christmas Charger Plate

Try something new and make charger plate crafts this holiday season! With flowers, ornaments, doilies and more, you can turn a boring, plain plate into a true work of art thanks to Carlene Eshelman. In fact, the more embellishments you use, the better!


 

Materials:

• Gold charger plate
• 15 various flowers in red, green, white, gold
• Hot glue gun/sticks
• 3 small christmas ball ornaments
• Gold spray
• Green crocheted doily
• Mod podge
• 1 paper doily
• Scissors
• Prepared bow

Instructions:

1. Paint front and back of crocheted doily with mod podge. Let dry.
    
2. Cut a section of crocheted doily so that you have about 5 petals.
    
3. Make cuts on the side of each petal but do not totally cut them. This will help curve the doily around the charger.
    
4. Hot glue doily around inside corner of your charger plate(on right side).
    
5. Optional-cut flat large flowers in half and place on outer edge of charge and glue.
    
6. Cut paper doily in half, then half again.
    
7. Glue over crocheted doily to inside edge of charger plate.
    
8. Arrange gold spray at top of doily and glue.
    
9. Glue larger flowers to doily in various places.
    
10. Arrange smaller flowers around right side of charger.
     
11. When flowers are to your liking, glue in place.
     
12. Glue Christmas ball ornaments in open spots.
     
13. Glue bow to bottom of your flower embellishments.
