I have made something very similar to this tutorial in the past. The only difference is that I left the top portion of the jar open and left the hanging ribbon off. I placed one of those small, battery operated flickering candles inside for a nice warm glow. It was so cute! It is also easy enough to make that a child can do it without frustration. They are also super inexpensive to do, which is nice.

I could see 2 baby food jars glued top to top. One is snowman's head the other is his body. A ribbon wrapped around the middle or yarn wrapped over and over (stacked) would be his belt.
