What a unique idea for an ornament. I have never heard of using mussel shells for crafts. You say to use a lot of glue, but about how much do you use on your mussel shells? I have no clue where to start on that aspect. I know a thick bead of glue, but do you go around the entire connection?

We live close to the beach and though I often collect shells, I always collected the light colored shells for crafting purposes. Now this cute idea gives me a good reason to pick up a few of those mussel shells, too. Thank you for sharing!

This is the craziest yet awesome idea! I wonder if these shells can be painted or colored in any way?
