Painted Snowman Cork Ornament
Save your wine and champagne corks and create a Painted Snowman Cork Ornament to hang on your tree. This project is simple enough for kids to make under the supervision of adults. Go green and trim your trash haul with cork crafts for Christmas.
Materials:
- Champagne cork
- Wine cork
- White acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- Paint brush or foam brush
- Eyes: 2 google eyes or 2 small buttons
- Scarf: fabric or felt scrap
- Top Hat: black felt scrap
- Nose: 3 small orange beads & 1 headpin OR orange felt-tipped marker
- Black sharpie marker
- Buttons: 2 small buttons or 2 small pom poms
- Arms: brown pipe cleaner
- Screw eye
- String or ribbon
- Scissors
- Glue gun and glue sticks
Instructions:

Attach wine cork to the rounded end of the champagne cork with hot glue.

Paint round part of the champagne cork and entire wine cork with white acrylic paint. Allow to dry completely.

Cut black felt into a doughnut shape with the inside circle the same size as the narrow part of the champagne cork and the outside circle approximately 1/2” wider.

Slide black felt donut onto the champagne cork to resemble the brim of a top hat.

Paint champagne cork area above the felt with black acrylic paint. Allow to dry completely.

Shape 2 arms using the brown pipe cleaner. Cut off excess pipe cleaner.

Use a dab of hot glue to secure in place.

To make the nose, thread 3 orange beads onto a headpin. Cut headpin leaving 1/2” excess wire. Push excess wire into cork until only 3 orange beads are visible. Secure in place with a dab of hot glue. OR Draw carrot nose using orange sharpie marker.

Using your hot glue gun, attach 2 google eyes, scarf, and button or pom pom.

Optional: Draw smile using black sharpie marker.

Attach screw eye to the top of the snowman.
- Thread string through screw eye and tie to form an ornament hanger.
