Granny squares are so easy to make, right? I never thought about using the square to make a candy stocking. I love the idea. You can use them for anyone and put practically anything you want inside. What a fast way to make up some goodie bags fast, just in case.

some friends made a hundred of these last Christmas, filled with a candy can and hanged them on the doors of the senior residence they live in.

I have a better granny square stocking. all you need to do is to make a nice looking stocking that look like a christmas stocking is to add one more corner. you make a granny square stocking is to make it a 5 corner instead of 4 coner. When you fold it in half after couple of rows it will look like a stocking. I have been making then for 25 years after I saw the first one at a craft show in middle Pa. you will find it easier and better looking then the one here. Dotty Reese
