Bead and Cork Christmas Earrings
With one wine cork and a few colorful beads, you can create a pair of decorative Bead and Cork Christmas Earrings. Wine cork craft projects give you a great excuse to reduce, reuse and recycle. Go green and look great with this simple craft.
Materials:
- Wine cork
- 8 head pins
- 4 red beads
- 2 green beads
- 2 pearl beads
- 10 jump rings
- 2 dangle earring loops / ear wire
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Drill with 1/16” drill bit & scrap wood
- Round nose pliers
- Wire cutter
Instructions:
-
Cut cork crosswise into 1/8 inch slices. Cut 2 slices total.
-
Drill 1 hole in the top of the cork and 3 holes on the bottom of both corks. Each hole should be within 1/4 inch from the edge of the cork.
-
Using a head pin, thread a bead onto the head pin. Close by twisting the wire around your round nose pliers and cutting off the excess wire with your wire cutter.
-
Repeat for each bead (8 beads / 8 head pins total).
-
Open all 10 jump rings.
-
Thread each jump ring into each hole of the cork slice (8 jump rings total).
-
Add dangle bead to each jump ring and close.
-
Thread ear loop wire onto 1 open jump ring and top jump ring and close.
- Repeat for the other earring.

Wow, you can really use cork for almost anything, huh? I never thought of mixing beads and cork to make an earring, but I kinda like the idea. I bet I can find a few people who would appreciate the appeal and design that would love for me to make these earrings for them as a gift. I know that not everyone will appreciate it, but I'm sure most will.
