This is adorable. Yes, I was raised in a Zgerman family and thus is familiar to me. Just like putting your shoe outside your bedroom door on Dec6th, the feast of Saint Nicholas. I am going to make two of these, one for my tree and one for my son and his family tree.

When I was growing up, my grandparents would always hang a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree per German tradition. I'm happy to say I also hang one on my tree every year!
